Proud Piece
This year I was very proud that are basketball team won divisional champs! Then when we went to Provincials we got 2nd. At the beginning of the season when the team was picked you could tell are team had great potential. The group of girls was really nice and we began to feel like one big family. At the first tournament we went in, we made it all the way to the finals. We ended up getting killed to Sargent Park which quickly became are rivals. Every tournament we went in of coarse Sargent Park was there. Although we didn’t beat them the score between us became less and less. Until one tournament it was very close, but we managed to pull off a win. In are regular season are team did amazing. Although we didn’t really have any competition like Sargent we still had stuff to work on after each game. The girls on are team were all very skilled, but our coaches were the ones that got us to where we are. We thank them for all the hours and dedication to the team. This was the best season of basketball I have ever played!

PQP Memo to the Author

Re: Thirteen Reasons Why
Hi Jay, I am writing to you because I want to tell you about how much I enjoyed your book 13 Reason’s Why. I managed to read it all in two days pretty impressive since I don’t read that much. What I liked most about it was that it wasn’t written from Hannah’s point of view it was written from Clay’s point of view. I liked that a lot because then you were able to see how much these tapes impacted him and the see how he felt about what had happened to Hannah. I also like the message the book brings, how even the things you think might make the smallest difference, could be a big difference to someone else.
Along with being totally amazed by this book I also had lots of questions. I wondered where he got this idea of writing a book like this. Maybe something liked this happened and it was based on a true story or maybe he made up the idea on his own. I also wonder why he chose to make the story in the point of view from Clay, why not someone else. Was it that Clay ment the most to Hannah and that’s why you wanted to write it like that? My other question is why did you make it so that Clay’s friend, the one in charge of the tapes, shared them with other people. Since he wasn’t on the tapes and he was incharge of them. Maybe it was because he respected Hannah or that they were cl9ose friends.
I think it would have made it more exciting if you wrote it so each character listened to their own tapes and we could hear the feelings of what they thought about the situation. It would make it more interesting than having to listening to the same opinion over and over again. Another way I thought it could be more exciting if Clay was the last one to get the tapes, because then we could see what he would do with the tapes and how he would react to it all. We could of seen if any other characters that got the tape came and talked to him about the things that happen. But overall this was a great book, and it was amazing to read!

Donuts and Friends
K guys omg! Last night my dad gave
me the keys to his porche! So I called Morgan and Carina to tell them the news.
We decided to go out driving around town. But before I left my dad gave me a
long boring speech, about how to be a responsible driver, and how he trusts me.
I didn’t really care because I finally had the keys to my dad’s PORCHE!
I was driving over to Morgan’s to pick her up
and I noticed I had to be a bit more careful because the roads were really icy.
I got Morgan then went to pick Carina up. You should have seen me driving
around best driver right here. We had the music blasting and we were just
having a great time. We were driving down this one street and Carina noticed an
empty parking lot cover in ice. She had the amazing idea to do donuts! I said
sure so we pulled into the parking lot. We started driving really fast then
slammed on the breaks and spun the wheel, we went flying! Spinning around and
around, it was a rush of adrenaline that we wanted to feel again. After a while
Morgan wanted to try so we switched places and she drove. As we were spinning I look back at Carina and
she is flying everywhere. OOOH I was laughing so hard. Then of course Carina
wanted to try so we all switched places. We decided to do one more then leave
because it was getting late. I got back behind the wheel and as we were
spinning all of sudden we hit something and stopped. We all got out of the car
and looked at each other; we had hit a lit post. We all knew I was going to get
in so much trouble.
I drooped Carina and Morgan off at
their houses and went home. I parked the Porche in the garage and quietly snuck
in. I went to my room and avoided my parents the whole night.
Donuts and Parents Don’t Mix
My dad just woke me up. What happened
to my car he yelled! I looked at him and began to tell him what happened.
Well you know I how you gave me the
keys to your car, so I decided to go pick Morgan and Carina up. We were all
just going to drive around and show off that we had are license and we were
driving a Porche. I noticed the roads were real icy so I even drove real slow
and was extra careful. We found an empty parking lot and Carina had the idea
that we should do donuts. We were being real careful, but then we decided to do
one more be for we left and we crashed into a light post. That’s how your car
got that dent. I am so sorry and I will promise to be careful next time, and I
will pay for the damage. I will also be ok with whatever punishment you
decided. But it’s all good because it could have been worse. Like what if one
of us got hurt, injured or even killed. So it’s ok because we are all safe.
Even though I told him that, I still
got grounded for like ever.

Technology From the Past

In aincient Mesopotamia they produced copper quantities large enough to make tools and weapons. To do this they combined copper with tin to make bronze. Bronze made the tools stronger then copper did alone.Using this bronze, they were able to build stronger tools. Which allowed them to build bigger and stronger boats and land vehicals. with better vehicals they could travel farther and trade with people far away like India.

Dear diary,
Sept.29/11
My name is Keylyn
Morgan Filewich, but nobody really calls me by my full name. My friends and
family call me keks, keke or Filewich. I was born a crisp cold morning of
February 9th, in Canada. Which would make me 13, the oldest in my
family. My family consists of my dad Keon, lazy, smart and funny. My mom Arlyn,
she is very loud, outgoing and embarrassing. Kyler my 10 year old brother (he
knows everything about college football. Last but not least McKenna my 10 year
old sister; she is the drama queen of the family. As for me, I am the organized
and on time person in my family. But it doesn’t stop there.
There is a lot to
know about me. Canada has been my home ever since I was born. In school my
favourite subjects besides shops and gym my favourite subjects would have to be
science and French. I like math because you don’t have to worry about proper
grammar or correct spelling. I like science because I like being curious and
doing experiments. At my school I also like participating in sports.
School sports are
very fun! You get to be with your friends and have a good time. This year I’m
trying out for all the teams except wrestling.
Besides school sports I play sports outside of school. I play club
volleyball and basketball along with AA hockey. With these sports I am also
working on becoming a life guard. I love
participating in sports because its fun and you also make lots of new friends.
Besides sports and school I love hanging
with my friends! I have lots of great friends like Carina, Morgan, Parker,
McKenna, Carly, Kayla, Katie, Cole, Dawson and Dylan. Out of these people it’s hard to pick a
favourite , but I think it is Katie. She is always there for me, we have never
gotten in to fights, and I know I can trust her with all my secrets. I love
hanging with my friends at the park, mall, someone’s house, and hockey games!
My family also
means a lot to me. You already know about my family, but I also have a lot more
people I love. Like my grandparents, cousins, aunties and uncles. Even though
some of them live far away, it’s always fun to go visit them or go on a big
family trip. My mom’s parents on a cabin at a lake and that’s where we spend
are summer. I love it there because all my cousins come out and we have the
best time. We go hiking, tubing, wakeboarding, skiing and more. The best days
at the lake are when the water is perfectly calm and it looks like glass. Then we
just spend the whole day on the lake.
I have lots of
goals in my life. Some are bigger than others. This year my goals are to make
the AA hockey team and provincial basketball. For my school goals are to go to
NSSS for science fair and make the golden honor roll all three terms. My goals
for the future are to get a scholarship for volleyball, hockey or basketball.
Then to become some kind of high paid doctor. I think it is always good to have
goals in your life because then you are pushing yourself to achieve them.
Hope you learned
more about me. I will talk to you tomorrow and tell you more about my friends
and thoughts on boys!
